Summary:
Systems Planning Corporation (SPC), a subsidiary company of GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an IT Maintenance Consultant with experience in the operation and maintenance of computer systems, networks and industrial control systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, upgrading and maintaining computers, networks and control systems in an industrial or power plant environment. This position could be worked out of multiple field offices out of the North East. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • May be required to analyze computers, networks or control systems to determine compliance with Industry and NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) cyber security policies and regulations.
  • May be required to update software to comply with policies or regulations.
  • Communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to effectively analyze, organize and manipulate data such as spreadsheets, tables and reports.
  • Make recommendations to station management and technical support personnel to address cyber security, regulatory, or system performance issues.
  • May be required to write, test, update or install control logic within an industrial control system.
  • Work on-site at customer's power generation facility. The assignment will be in an industrial setting and require wearing personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by client management.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s  degree from an accredited college or university in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years working with computers, networks and control systems in an industrial plant or power generation facility.
  • A minimum of 5 years working in power generation facilities.
  • Must have a working knowledge of power generation technology including the steam cycle, combustion turbines, and hydroelectric facilities.
  • Strong communication and organization skills required.

This role will primarily work within an office setting. The successful applicant will also be required to:

  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Climb a ladder.
  • Climb stairs up to 12 floors
  • Work at high elevations.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Work in an environment with both hot and cold temperatures.
