GAI Consultants is looking for a Mechanical Designer to work in our Power and Industry Engineering Group. A successful candidate must have the ability to apply general Industrial Piping knowledge while designing industrial piping systems, HVAC systems, and creating equipment general arrangements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop technical documentation necessary for the implementation of mechanical systems.
Develop mechanical, piping, and HVAC equipment arrangement and routing drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.
Develop piping and system isometrics.
Develop P&ID's using AutoCAD software.
Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with clients.
Interface with other disciplines to assure the teams designs are coherent.
Create project criteria and man-hour estimates.
Develop bills of materials, scope of services and constructed cost estimates for mechanical projects.
Give guidance and direction to designer resources of less experience.
A minimum of five years of Mechanical Design experience is required
Technical degree in related discipline or related field.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit software.
Ability to work and collaborate in a group environment.
Must be a team player
Must be detailed oriented.
Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands and/or Other Job Information (if applicable):
Physically capable of performing field visits to client sites to obtain photos, physical measurements, and view site conditions.
Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for reimbursable company use.
Must be a US citizen, without dual citizenship.

Have the ability to lift 50 lbs., able to climb ladders, work at heights over 25 ft.
Must be able to wear and work in Personal Protection Equipment including fall protection.
