GAI Consultants is looking for a technically diversified Civil/Water Project Engineer to support our Civil Engineering Technical Services Group working out of one of our Western PA offices (Homestead, Cranberry, Murrysville or Southpointe).  Ideally this candidate will be able to perform project planning, design, engineering, permitting and engineering services during construction for general civil/site, water resources, and water and wastewater projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing and providing design, management, and technical direction and oversight associated with general civil/site, water resources and/or water wastewater components on infrastructure design projects. 
Deliverables may include Civil/Site Development and Access Road Grading Plans, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans, Stormwater Management Plans, Utility Design and Relocation Plans, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans, Hydrology and Hydraulic Reports, Permit Application Packages (earth disturbance, land development, highway occupancy, water obstruction and encroachment, water quality etc), and Construction Plans, Specifications and Opinions of Probable Cost.
Water and wastewater engineering and design, that may include collection, conveyance, treatment, pumping and storage systems.
Water Resource engineering and design, that may include hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage systems, channels, and stormwater management systems.
Design of temporary and permanent Stormwater Best Management Practices (channels, culverts, infiltration, detention, and/or retention structures).
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining budget, schedule, and quality of Tasks and being up to speed on regulation changes and agency protocols and requirements.
The candidate will be responsible for development of proposals, scopes of work, man-hour estimates and work plans for engineering portions of work pursuits. 
Domestic travel may be required.

Bachelors (B.S.) degree from an accredited college in Civil and/ or Environmental Engineering (M.S. degree a plus) and 4-8 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
Professional Engineering license and NCEES registration (or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
Knowledge of applicable regulations. 
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and work independently as needed on project specific tasks.
Ability to be efficient in planning and organizing workload.
Dedicated commitment to performing quality work with a positive attitude and work ethic.
Ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D to generate site plans, surfaces, profiles, cross sections, topographic plan, etc.
Ability to use GIS software a plus, including using Arc GIS software, and use the software in modeling water and waste/water networks.
Experience in Watercad, Watergem, Hydoflow, KY Pipes or other similar type industry modeling software a plus.
Experience in Hydra, SMWW5, Infosewer, SewerCAD, SewerGEMS, PCSWMM, InfoSWMM, SP-SWMM or other similar type industry modeling software a plus.
Experience with HEC-RAS, HY8, Hydraflow Hydrographs, StormCAD, Flo2D or other similar type industry modeling software a plus.

Physical Demands and/or Other Job Information (if applicable):
Ability to hike moderate distances through unimproved terrain, utility rights-of-way, in remote areas, etc.
Ability to hear and visualize potential hazards during fieldwork or site visit situations.
