Water Resources Project Manager

Summary:
GAI Consultants is seeking an expert in water resource engineering to join our growing practice.  The position is focused to high level stormwater design for our broad base of private and public sector clients.  This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively with our growing civil engineering and planning teams, to develop and expand an integral service to new and existing clients.  We focus on integrated and innovative solutions to our clients to provide lasting value. This position will also involve civil engineering design and project management supporting the growing Orlando office.  As a leader in the stormwater practice, the ability to provide support to other offices throughout Florida will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Candidate must be well versed in ICPR, HEC-RAS and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with local city, county, water management district and federal codes related to stormwater design, permitting, and management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to think creatively on solutions with our interactive civil and planning practice.
  • Develop strategy on new projects, alternative analysis at the conceptual planning level.
  • Design implementation and leadership of stormwater components for the engineering components of projects.
  • Development of master plan stormwater reports and permit applications for permit submittal, together with the ability to proactively work through the permitting process.
  • Ability to present to clients and agencies to effectively communicate the project goals.
  • Experienced in client relationship management and developing new work.
  • Support development of scope and fee for stormwater related projects.
  • Ability to draft scope, budget and manage projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Stormwater master planning experience.
  • 7+ years of total technical experience, with at least 2 of those years serving as a Task or Project Manager leading and directing projects or tasks
  • Professional engineering license required.
  • Delivers scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety and profitability of all projects managed
  •  Plans and manages projects with a wide range of value, with single or multi-discipline focus.
  • Works with Project Controls staff to analyze project performance data on an on-going basis and develop recovery plans as needed
