Summary:
GAI Consultants is seeking a Distribution Design Engineer to join our Power Delivery Engineering Group in our Orlando office. In this position you will be performing the design and management of multiple distribution projects across lines spanning 4kV to 35kV. Assignments will develop professional knowledge and abilities and require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria while carrying out related engineering and project management tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as project manager for multiple distribution design projects
Apply standard techniques, procedures, criteria and a sequence of steps in carrying out a sequence of engineering and project management related tasks.
Perform field visits as part of design activities as required and act as point of contact for clients. 
Complete distribution design activities including drawing preparation, bill of materials development and material ordering. 
Utilize industry and CADD software in the design process
Document and prepare minutes from client meetings as required.
Review designs with other engineers and technicians.
Develop and review project schedules and timelines to meet deadlines
Train staff as needed.
 

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred. 
Prior electrical or distribution design experience in AutoCAD is considered a plus.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as; material quantities, proportions, dimensions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Can learn quickly and apply knowledge from past projects to current designs.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Scheduling software, and Adobe Pro or Bluebeam. 
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and processes. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from internal staff, clients, Contractors and field personnel.
Must have excellent communication and time management skills.
Must be able to travel to other site/office locations. Must have a good driving record. This position requires overnight stays and flexibility.
