Senior Electrical Engineer

GAI Consultants is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work in our Nuclear and Industry Group in our Orlando, FL office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct various electrical engineering studies and analyses.
  • Develop technical documentation necessary for implementation of design changes of power and control systems
  • Develop Single Line, Three Line, wiring, protection and control diagrams, schematics, and equipment layout plans. This work includes coordination with CAD operators to develop quality drawings in accordance with GAI’s or clients’ CAD Standards.
  • Apply general Electrical Engineering knowledge while designing and analyzing power distribution, control, and automation systems.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with clients.
  • Create project criteria and develop technical specifications and bills of materials.
  • Develop commissioning and testing specification.
  • Assist with development of scopes of services and estimating costs for electrical projects.
  • We are looking for leaders or someone with leadership potential that can grow into a leadership role within a year or so. This person must be team oriented.
  • Develop GAI's mechanical, electrical, and structural business with new and existing clients. 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering experience is required. A background in power distribution, protection, and/or control systems and ground grid design experience is preferred.
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Proficient in operation of ETAP and/or SKM software.
  • Manage tasks on multiple projects in accordance with GAI’s standard of project management.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision on assigned projects.
  • Must be detailed oriented and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in developing proposals for professional services is preferred.

Physical Demands and/or Other Job Information (if applicable):

Physically capable of performing field visits to client sites to obtain photos, physical measurements, and view site conditions.
Must be a US citizen, without dual citizenship.
Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for reimbursable company use.
