Summary:
GAI Consultants is seeking a Distribution Designer for our Jackson office. This person will perform field review of distribution lines from 4kV to 35kV and perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize various software to compare proposed electrical distribution designs with actual field conditions
  • Perform field visits for Sr. Technicians aiding in their designs
  • Assist Sr. Technicians as required
  • After field experience will start designing basic distribution systems
  • May interface with clients and customers
  • Learn quickly and apply knowledge from past projects to current designs
  • Travel and review of field electrical distribution facilities will be a major activity

Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of computer aided design preferred
  • Prior experience utilizing CADD or some type of drawing software a plus
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as material quantities, proportions, dimensions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe software
  • General knowledge of Electrical Distribution facilities a plus
  • Any Electrical Utility design or site construction work is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to drive safely and obey traffic laws
