GAI Consultants is currently seeking a CAD Operator who is capable of learning survey nomenclature, able to work with drawing files using external references, and layouts. Experience with .tin files, deed work, or Civil 3D preferred. Applicant must have intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficiency in Computer Drafting software is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create drawings and maps using CAD software and related software
Meet with users to define drawing needs and project requirements
Gather and integrate data from field crews and other sources, and determine how best the information can be displayed using CAD
Compile data from a variety of sources
Enter new map data including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevations, topography, and map scales
Operate and maintain system hardware, software, plotter, printer etc.
Move, copy, delete and add files, drawings and maps
Present information to users and answer questions
Associates Degree in AutoCAD Drafting preferred
1-3 years relevant experience
Must be flexible with work hours
Strong organizational skills required
AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
Physical Demands and/or Other Job Information (if applicable):
Ability to lift and carry between 25 and 50 lbs routinely
Ability to walk for lengthy periods
Working in all weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, etc.)
Able to do physically demanding work
