GAI Consultants is seeking a Highway Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Civil Engineering and Pennsylvania PE License plus a minimum of twenty (20) years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience in Civil Engineering. Potential work locations may include offices in: Cranberry, Homestead, or Southpointe, PA. Applicants would be responsible for developing, coordinating and executing transportation design and construction services efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties of this position include, but may not be limited to: 

  • Provide oversight of construction management and inspection teams for highway and bridge projects with PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission.
  • Direct complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs. 
  • Provide design management assistance and other duties required to advance highway and bridge projects within Pennsylvania.
  • Review deliverables for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contracts, and related specifications.
  • Responsible for financial success of assigned projects.
  • Assist with marketing and proposal development. Establish and maintain client relationships.
 

Qualifications:

Experience must include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Engineering School and a Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • 20 years of experience in the design and construction of highway and bridge projects.  Particular emphasis on work in Pennsylvania.
  • The ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects is required.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to: interact with other staff, clients, Project Managers, and various Department Managerial Staff.
  • Knowledgeable in PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission policies and procedures required.
