Sr. Water/Wastewater Project Manager

This is a senior position within the Operations Group of the GAI Infrastructure Business Unit (INF) responsible for providing support with client development and management, project development and management, and business development ventures for all Florida INF market sectors with an initial primary focus on water, wastewater, and land development.  Initial geographic focus will be within the Orlando area to grow GAI’s investment in the region.  The position will also include strategic client development throughout Florida and other areas of the Southeastern United States after stabilization and growth are achieved in the local Orlando Market. Areas of primary focus will be within the current GAI office locations of Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Palm Beach Gardens.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Technical execution and oversight of engineering projects. 
  • Participation in project pursuits. 
  • Project management and client management. 
  • Independently perform and guide others on the completion of water and waste water projects.
  • Dealing and interfacing with clients and with state regulatory agencies (e.g. FDEP, Water Management Districts).

  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in process engineering in water and wastewater and design of water/wastewater/reclaimed water treatment facilities and pumping stations, including infrastructure planning, design and plans and plans & Specifications/Bid document preparation
  • Knowledge of BioWin® and/or GPS-X® process modeling software is desirable            
  • Florida Professional Engineer License is a MUST or ability to obtain PE License in Florida if licensed in other states within 6 months from date of  hire  by reciprocity  
  • Proven successful track record technically 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to mentor, lead, and direct junior staff to accomplish strategic goals and objectives
  • Motivated to grow market share in above areas
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and Microsoft Project software
  • Master Degree in Civil Engineering & Environmental Engineering from an ABET institution (or equivalent) with a water and wastewater specialty is required. Ph.D. degree is preferred.
  • A combination of a Bachelor's degree with required experience, skills and a minimum  of 12 years of experience will be considered.
